House, now public house. c1700 with slightly later rear wing raised mid C19. Large coursed much-weathered sandstone, brick to 1st floor of rear wing, stone slate roof. Two storeys. Three first-floor windows. Originally three-cell plan with direct entry into third cell, this now blocked and replaced by inserted doorway in second cell which has reused lintel initialled and dated " SHE , thin tie-stone 1669" jambs and chamfered surround. To either side a four-light double-chamfered mullioned window with almost square reveals, two mullions removed retaining king mullion only with drip course above. First floor has sash windows with slightly projecting sills. Brick gable stacks.
Rear: wing to left and breaking forward has earlier single-storey roofline discernible in gable. Plain sash windows to each floor of returns. House has lateral stack at junction of second and third cells. Right-hand return has large external stack with offsets capped by brick gable stack to right of two-light window to each floor.
