House now 2 dwellings. C17 altered probably early C19; left wing probably
rebuilt early C19; the rear part built later C19. Coursed squared rubble
with some quoins. The rear wing brick. Stone slate roofs. H-plan with
extended rear-left wing. Two storeys. Near-symmetrical facade of 2+2+2
bays. The central housebody has paired entrances in architrave surrounds.
All windows have 12-pane sashes, those to left wing are larger and do not
have stone surrounds. Gable copings are later. The rear is rendered but has
2 remaining lights of a 3-light double-chamfered window at 1st-floor level.
The rear wing is not of special interest.
Interior: right wing has a late C17 stair with turned balusters, incised
newels with moulded caps and moulded handrail, possibly reset in C19. The
front room of the right wing has panelling, possibly re-used, and a moulded
fireplace with Tudor arch and sunken spandrels. The roofs of the hall and
right wing have king-post trusses with raking queen struts and braces from
king-posts to ridge.
