Terrace of 4 town houses, now 2 surgeries and one club. c1848-50; altered. Chisel-dressed sandstone ashlar, slate roof. Simplified classical style. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with individual back extensions. 3 storeys over cellars, 2+2+2+2 windows; with a chamfered plinth, continuous sillbands on 2 levels, plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice. Each has the doorway to the right, with pilaster jambs, moulded impost and floating cornice, that to No.80 with a panelled door, that to No.82 altered as a window and the others with altered doors; all have windows with moulded architraves, those at ground floor segmental-headed and the architraves shouldered, with 4-pane sashes at No.80 and altered glazing at the others. 3 corniced chimneys on the ridge (the 4th altered). Rear: Nos 78 & 80 have full-height back extensions, and No.80 has 16-pane sashed windows. INTERIOR not inspected. Forms group with Nos 66-76 to the left (qv).
