4/2 Cross Bank Methodist Sunday School
G.V. II
Methodist Sunday School. Dated 1882. Dressed stone. Hipped slate roof. 2 storeys. 7 bays by 5 bay gable frontage. Central 3 bay break has open pediment with vase acroterion, on 1st floor pilasters with foliated capitals. Central round arched doorway with double, panelled door and fanlight, above which is segmental open pediment, on large console brackets, with words WESLEYAN SUNDAY SCHOOL ENLARGED 1882 To left and right is round arched window with foliated impost band. The 1st floor windows of central break form triple group, with red granite colonnettes with annulets and foliated capitals supporting stilted round arched heads, the centre one being taller and breaking into the open pediment above. In tympanum of each side arch is carved bird, and in tympanum of centre arch is round foliated panel with small rectangular panel below with anthemion decoration. The 2 side windows have apron with tiled panel.
Windows to flanking bays and side elevations are round arched with impost band. 1st floor windows have hood moulds and alternately coloured voussoirs.
