BRIGHOUSE STATION ROAD, NORWOOD SE 12 NW GREEN (south side) 1/166 Lower Carr Farmhouse

II House. Early C18 with C19 alterations. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. North front has double framed windows with square reveals and chamfered mullions of 2 lights and 3 lights to both floors. Quoins. 3 stacks. Left hand return wall has 2 doorways to cottages with monolithic jambs and 3- light flat faced C19 mullioned window with same over. In apex of gable is early C18 chamfered mullioned window of 2 lights. Rear has doorway with monolithic jambs and two 3-light early C19 flat faced mullioned windows with same over. The house would appear to retain its original form to roadside but to have had its windows altered to rear and new ones inserted to east gable when the house was turned into cottages in the early C19.
