7/1 Street House and attached Street House Cottage

CV II

House and cottage. Early C17 house with alterations, late C18 cottage. Coursed rubble with dressed stone to cottage. Stone slate roof. Two storeys. South elevation has addition to left end with 2 bays of windows with plain stone surrounds and slightly projecting sills. Break in stonework. Similar bay of windows. 4-light double-chamfered mullioned window to left of inserted French window. Two C18 windows over to 1st floor. Quoins at junction with end hay which breaks forward slightly and has 2 chamfered windows formerly of 2 lights lacking mullions with a stepped light opened between. Coped gables with kneelers and stacks, 2 other stacks to ridge. Right return wall has 2-light chamfered mullioned windows to 1st floor. The rear has C18 doorway with raised monolithic jambs to left of outshut with 3-light double-chamfered mullioned window. Set in the angle between is segmental bow with tall chamfered light to light spiral (possibly stone) staircase.

Interior of main room has wide segmental-arched fireplace with joggled voussoirs and skewbacks.
