6/12 Hooton Roberts Rectory 29.3.68 GV II
Rectory. Early-mid C18 with C19 additions and alterations; incorporates some earlier masonry. Coursed, squared sandstone; C20 pantile roof; renewed brick stacks. Irregular plan. C18 part: 2 storeys with attic; 3 windows; short stair-wing to centre rear. Early C19 2-storey cross- wing to left has additions to rear and in angle with C18 range. Entrance front: large quoins to right. Panelled central door in swept-shouldered architrave with projecting voussoirs to keyed flat arch. Open-sided, tiled-roof porch. Window to left has projecting sill, sash with glazing bars and projecting keystone to flat arch; similar windows to lst-floor left and centre. Added 2-storey bay to right has margin-light sashes and hipped roof. Ashlar gable copings. End stacks. Wing set forward to left has tripartite sash with glazing bars to each floor; square-faced mullions and 3-piece lintels cut to resemble voussoirs with keystones. Hipped roof with stack to left at eaves. Rear stair wing of C18 part has Venetian window (without mullions).
Interior: C18 panelling and fireplace surround in left ground-floor room. Slender balusters to staircase.
