NORTH AND SOUTH ANSTON THE GREEN SK58SW (west side), North Anston 5/75 No18 (Formerly listed as Hall Farmhouse) 29.5.66 GV II

Farmhouse. C17, altered C18 and C20. Deeply-coursed limestone, pantile roof. 2 storeys with attics, 2 windows to 1st floor. Large, chamfered quoins on left. Small stone porch with bead-moulded ashlar surround, shaped kneelers and gable copings; flanking C20 4-light casements in altered openings; 1st-floor band beneath 2 similar windows. Shaped kneelers and gable copings; truncated end stack on right, ridge stack to left of door. Wing projecting to front right (No 18A) not of special interest. Rear: small outshut on left with two 2-light double-chamfered, mullioned windows, the lower window with mullion removed, the upper blocked; inserted casement on right beneath large double-chamfered surround now with 2-light casement. Right return has best-preserved elevation with several double-chamfered mullioned windows with dripstones: intact 2-light window beneath chamfered plinth; intact 4-light window to ground floor; 3- light window above without mullions; small chamfered light to attic. 2 inserted casements on left, one of them in a square-faced surround. Interior not inspected.
