ASTON-CUM-AUGHTON CHURCH LANE SK48NE (east side, off) Aston 6/3 Gravestone to Hill family situated approximately 5 metres to east of south porch of Church of All Saints GV II Gravestone c1729. Ashlar sandstone. In the form of a full-size coffin with coped lid and with dropped handles carved in relief at each end. Inscriptions to John Hill of Aston (d1729) with motto: 'My Glass is Run My time / is spent no earthly care / can Death prevent: also to Elizabeth his wife (1709) aged 29 and son Robert (1708) aged 2. Most unusual gravestone of the period.
