SK69SW,SK69SE BAWTRY TICKHILL ROAD (south side) 9/43, 10/43 Double barn at Hall Farm - (premises of Yorkshire Bottle Company Ltd) GV II Double barn. c1800, altered. Red brick in English garden wall bond, sheet asbestos roof. 2 storeys, 12 bays with dovecotes in south-facing gables at each end. South side (enclosed within C20 warehouse): projecting gabled end bays; between then are 3 round-arched, recessed panels. Outer recesses have segmentally-arched waggon entrances, central recess has door beneath lozenge- shaped vent. End gables (seen from outside warehouse) have dentilled brick pediments enclosing round-arched recesses with brick ledges and pigeon holes; ashlar gable copings. Rear: opposed waggon entrances with ashlar impost blocks and C20 doors and shutters beneath round-arched panels; between the doors are 2 circular pitching holes (that to ground-floor bricked-up flush). Similar blocked pitching holes to each side; slatted casement beneath segmental brick arch on far left. Formerly part of Home Farm serving Bawtry Hall (q.v.). C20 additions not of special interest.
