Church. 1848-9. By G T Andrews for the Hon Payan Dawnay of Beningbrough Hall. Coursed stone, ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. Aisled nave with north-west tower and south porch, chancel with north vestry. Early English style.
Tower: four stages with north-west vice; off-set angle buttresses; trefoil-headed windows with hoodmoulds, the belfry windows with colonettes; broach spire with lucarnes and small quatrefoils. Nave: four bays. Porch has fleur-de-lis-finialled buttresses; roll-moulding and hood-mould to doorway; inner pointed-arch doorway with colonettes and nail-studded board door with decorative ironwork. South aisle has chamfered plinth, off-set buttresses, quoined surrounds to one- and two-light windows. Quatrefoils to clerestory. Two single-light windows under cinquefoil in raised surround to west end. Chancel: three bays, lower and narrower central priest's door and three windows, each of two-lights and quatrefoil. Pointed-arch east window of paired trefoil-headed lights each with trefoil above and cinquefoil over the whole. Eaves bands, copings and fleur-de-lis finials. Nave arcade of double-chamfered pointed arches on octagonal columns. Carved, painted reredos and fretted, panelled choir screen with decorative iron gates by Temple Moore (Carter, p86). East window by Willement.
