ALLERTON MAULEVERER WITH HOPPERTON
ALLERTON PARK archway, approximately 100 metres north-east of Mansion House (Previously listed Summer House at Allerton Park)

Summer house. Late C18. Rock-dressed stone and timber, with stone tiled
roof. Brick wall and archway attached to south end. Single storey, 11 bays
to rear wall with blind arches and heavy impost bands topped with
battlements and square pinnacles. Central bay and 2 of the side bays have
round-headed arches and panelled doors. Central 5 bays splayed forwards.
Lean-to open-work trellis in front composed of coupled, crudely dressed
wooden posts supporting the roof and topped with ball finials. The attached
brick wall with ashlar dressings has a panelled door in a round arch which
infils a wider and taller arch with triangular pediment and ramped walls
over.
