Beeboles and garden wall 4/6 behind Park Side
GV II
Beeboles and walling. Probably C18, restored late C20. Sandstone and magnesian limestone. The wall is approximately 1.5 metres high and 8 metres long. The boles take the form of a row of 8 square recesses approximately 60 centimetres wide and 30 centimetres deep. Lintels and divisions between the boles are sawn stone blocks. Projecting stone sills. The boles were built to house straw or reed skep hives which were replaced by free-standing frame hives in the mid C19.
