6/154 Castle Cliffe, to rear of Nos 19-23 5.2.52 GV II
House. Mid C18 restored c1920. Coursed squared limestone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys with attics, 3 bays. Central C20 board door with rectangular overlight. Gibbs surround with triple keystone and cornice. Flanking sashes have similar architraves with triple keystone. First floor: sashes with projecting sills and keyed incised eared lintels. Stone gutter brackets, brick end stacks. Central C20 dormer. Interior: original panelled doors to first floor; thorough restoration 1927. The buildings in this group were originally known as Dr Steads Yard. Kelly, Directory of Yorkshire, 1851 and 1871.
