Details
FYLINDALES PARK GATE NZ 90 SW 11/63 Sunnyside Farmhouse and outbuilding to left.
- II Farmhouse and attached outbuilding. Probably early C18 with late C18 or early C19 repointing of main house part and raising of outhouse from 1 storey. Coursed sandstone with fine herringbone tooling. Pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings and kneelers, brick and rendered stacks. Hearth-passage plan. Plinths to house and downhouse. Back part 2 storeys, 2 basis, the main house taller. Top-glazed 6-panel through-passage door in C19 pent wood porch. 20-pane tripartite windows with 12-pane central opening sashes. Downhouse irregular, with replaced small-paned Yorkshire sashes except for an early C19 sash at first floor lefthand a small chamfered window at left of door. Block kneelers; end chimneys to main house; conjoined ridge chimneys to downhouse, one rendered. attic windows in right return gable. Slightly lover outbuilding of 1 storey and loft. 5 bays at left; 2 builds, central barn with flanking byte and stable. Barn has central door. 2 vent slits on left and loft door above. Byre at left has 2 stable doors. Stable at right, adjoining house and probably the older part, has door, small casement to right, with shutter pintle and loading door above. Heavy tooled lintels to all doors; stepped eaves. Byre and stable have old internal partitions. House interior: Back kitchen has fire- place with peat plate, separate fire to oven, and reckon. Original beams on ground floor, with quarter-round mouldings, and a corniced firebeam. Stairs behind houseplace; small C18 fireplace in parlour. Later calf house at far end of byre is not of special interest.
