Details

FYLINGDALES FYLING PARK NZ 9404 18/93 Low Hall Farmhouse and 6.10.69. back area wall (formerly lists as Low Farmhouse) GV II Polite farmhouse, early C19. Coursed, squared, lightly-tooled sandstone of near-ashlar quality. Purple slate roof with stone ridges and stacks. Centre block of 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows, with 1-storey 2-bay side wings; near- symmetrical composition with wider, slightly-projecting pedimented centre bay. 2 steps up to 6-panel door with patterned overlight in stone doorcase of pilasters and cornice on big console brackets. Replaced 12-pane sashes in slightly-raised surrounds that in first floor centre having surround similar to door. First floor cill band; eaves cornice. Keyed oculus in pediment. Hipped roof with corniced end chimneys. Right wing has boarded door and 2 windows, 1 blocked, 1 a 9-pane sash; left wing has a blocked door and 2 windows. Rear shows central door of 3 and 3 panels under overlight with glazing bars. Modern casements in old openings. Area wall of 4 courses with rounded coping.
