House. Mid C16 rear wing, early C17 front block, altered mid C18 and refronted early C19. Rendered and colourwashed timber frame. Plaintile roofs. EXTERIOR: facade of 2 storeys. 3-window range. Central 8-panelled and fielded door, the upper two panels glazed. Doorcase of fluted pilasters and plain entablature. One 6/6 unhorned sash above. Either side is a full-height canted bay window fitted with 6/6 unhorned sashes. Gabled roof with external gable-end stack to west. Rear of front block dominated by 2-storey mid C18 gabled staircase tower, with a round-headed 8/8 sash. Square privy turret in angle between this and main wall. C20 conservatory to ground floor with 66 unhorned sash above. Rear wing of 2 storeys. West side with pentice porch protecting door. One C19 casement right and left and one to first floor. Gabled roof with central ridge stack and ridge stack to north. East side is irregular 3-window range. Panelled door within timber doorcase. Mixed C19 casements. INTERIOR: front block with close-studded timber frame. East room with brick 4-centred fireplace with sunk-quadrant mouldings. Boxed bridging beams. Mid C18 open-string staircase: 3 turned balusters per tread, ramped and wreathed handrail and dado rail. C17 small-framed panelling to wall of staircase landing. First-floor west room with sunk-quadrant moulded bridging beam with two soffit fillets. Roof of principals, collars, lower tier of butt purlins, upper tier of through purlins. Curved windbraces. Rear wing. Heavy timber frame. Chamfered bridging beams to ground floor. 2 blocked first-floor windows to west. Clasped purlin roof with diminished principals and curved windbraces.
