NORTH YORKSHIRE SELBY 5342 BYRAM-CUM-SUTTON BYRAM PARK SE 42 NE 3/14 Coach house and stables to Byram Hall
GV II Coach house and stables. Late C18 with later additions and alterations. By John Carr. Brick and sandstone with ashlar ground floor and dressings, partly rendered, and Welsh slate and asbestos roof. L-shaped on plan. 2 storeys. Coach house range has 7 bays. Symmetrical composition with 3-bay centre breaking foreward in 2 stages, and 2-bay wings. Central round carriage arch in moulded archivolt with round-arched window openings in moulded archivolts to either side. Wings have 2 round carriage arches with continuous impost band carried over arches. Those to left covered by later outshut, those to right with double coach doors beneath fanlight with radial glazing bars. 1st floor has 6-pane sashes with ashlar sills under flat arches of gauged brick. Cornice, hipped roof and ridge stacks. Stables. Similar, but with 3-bay wings. Blind arcading at ground floor level contains blocked round-arched stable openings with later casement and sash window infill. Blocked Ist floor openings. Hipped roof. Disused and dilapidated at time of inspection.
