Details
SETTLE MARKET PLACE SD 8263 (east side) 11/18 Eiliam GV II House and shop. C17 refronted C19. Watershot masonry, stone dressings, stone slate roof. 3 storeys, 2 bays. Left-hand entrance has plain surround and 7- panel door. All windows have C20 casements or fixed lights: 2-light flat- faced mullioned window to right with plain surround and projecting sill; similar but single light windows on first and second floors. Modillions at eaves, right-hand ridge stack. At rear is former 2-light double chamfered mullioned window with mullion now gone. Projecting wing shared with Fern Cottage (qv) has single light chamfered window in gable end and projecting gable end ridge stack. Inside wall is 3-light chamfered mullioned window at ground level and remains of 2 blocked 2-light chamfered mullioned windows with hoodmoulds.
