HAWES APPERSETT SD 89 SE 7/107 Appersett Bridge 25.3.69 GV II Bridge. Early C18 and 1795, widened downstream by John Carr. Ashlar and rubble. Single segmental arch. Downstream elevation: ashlar, with pilasters flanking arch. Band. Rubble abutments. Coursed rubble parapet with saddleback coping terminating in circular bollards. Upstream elevation: rubble, with hood-mould, ashlar band and parapets as before. York Georgian Society, The Works in Architecture of John Carr (1973), p 1.
