Stable blocks and courtyards. C18/C19. Red brick. Red tiled roofs.
Symmetrical front face with central 2 storey pedimented arch carriageway
surmounted by a small square bell cote with ogee roof and acorn finial. Round
headed doorways to inner walls of carriageway. Single storey left and right
ranges each with stone coping to parapet, cornice band, 5 recessed arches with
glazing bars to round head windows, central window to left now adapted as a door
approached by steps. The right courtyard building is 2 storeyed with red plain
tiled hipped roof. The hip end adjoining the front range with round head double
doors with glazing bars, small paned casement over. The original symmetrical
courtyard face with moulded eaves cornice, 3 forward centre bays with recessed
arches and pediment. Arches each with panelled double doors and semi-circular
lights with glazing bars over. Clock with canopy over to pediment. Small paned
casement windows to first floor right and left. Large domed bellcote with
dentilled cornice and arches under, square support columns, weathervane.
Various recessed arches to other courtyard buildings. Attached to the right C18
main range is a later courtyard range of red brick with red plain tiled roof
hipped to right. Eaves cornice. Symmetrical with gabled central carriageway,
plastered apex to gable with batten decoration. 6 recessed brick panels to
right and left of gable.
