GV II
c.1830 country house, now a club and flats, probably built for James Torkington Esq. Gault brick, rendered with hipped, slate roof. Two storeys. Main elevation in three bays, the two outer bays are blind, and the centre bay is surmounted by a parapet and framed by pilasters and has three recessed hung sashes with glazing bars. Large, Roman doric portico, segmental in plan to central double doorway and two similar hung sashes. Garden front of nine bays including slightly projecting three centre bays. Two storeys except for centre bays which have an attic storey and a segmental bay with flat roof at ground floor. Adjoining and at the east end is a loggia of three bays with Roman doric columns of Ketton stone. 1852 sale particulars (Huntingdon RO 15/363).
