SWIMBRIDGE SS 62 NW 11/164 Dennington Barton, including granary attached.

GV II

Farmhouse including granary attached. C19 but possibly earlier fabric survives. Coursed stone rubble. Slate roofs with gable ends. 2 axial brick stacks. Built into bank, long range single room deep with granary at left end. 2 storeys. 10 window range in all. Ground floor openings have dressed stone arches. Slate treads to external stone steps to granary left end, with boarded openings of 2 lights, above similar opening to left end, 6 panes fixed light to right of plank door. 4-paned half-glazed door to left of steps and 2-light window, 3 panes per light to right. Central 4 bays flanked by pilaster strips with hornless sashes all 6 over 6 panes except that over doorway which has 16 panes. 12 paned sashes to ground floor and wide doorway with door of 2-panelled leaves and 12-paned overlight. 1847 datestone above and to left of doorway. Right side has 4 window range of all 2- and 3-light casements, 8 panes per light except for one replacement. 4 paned overlight to plank door. Interior not inspected. The house is said to have been converted from farm buildings in 1847, the datestone recording this conversion.
