TL 73 NE GREAT YELDHAM TILBURY ROAD, West side 4/68 Spencer Grange II
House, C18, restyled in early C19. Stucco on brick, roofed with slate. Approx. square plan recessed on NE (entrance) elevation, garden elevation to SW, 4 chimney stacks symmetrically disposed, service wing to NW. 2 storeys and attics. Symmetrical elevation. 6-panel door and rectangular light over with geometrical tracery, and double-hung sash window of 8 lights to each side. Colonnade across recess, with 4 fluted Greek Doric columns and architrave. Above in recess, one double-hung sash window of 16 lights and 2 of 12 lights. In remainder of elevation, 4-window range of double-hung sashes of 12 lights. Plain string, moulded cornice and parapet. All windows early C19 except some early C18 sashes on first floor of SE elevation. Service wing is in 2 parts, C18 red brick elevations to SW and NW, stucco to NE. Roofs hipped.
