House. Early C19. Cement rendered, probably stone rubble with a hipped slate roof and end stacks with brick shafts. 4 room double depth plan to main range with a central entrance and 2 principal heated rooms to the front, 1 on either side of an entrance hall which probably contains the stairs. 1 room plan single-storey blocks with hipped slate roofs adjoin the main range at left and right. 2 storeys. 3-bay symmetrical front with very deep eaves, the centre bay deeply- recessed. Half glazed front door with fielded panels; panelled soffit and reveals to the doorcase. The central recessed bay is framed at ground floor level by a pierced canopy and vertical trellis panels of Chinese Chippendale influence. Pilasters on either side of the central recess and to left and right of the main range have sunk panels. 2-leaf ground floor French windows with transoms, reeded pilasters and cornices carried on brackets. 3 first floor 12-pane sashes, the outer windows with shutters; 12-pane sashes to single-storey left and right blocks. A glazed verandah carried on timber posts is hipped at the ends of the main range and paved ornamentally with cobbles and local stone. Interior comtemporary chimney-pieces survive, joinery and stairs may also be intact. A particularly attractive early C19 house with good external features.
