Sundial c.5 metres south 2/41 of Church of St. James

Sundial, 1745. Sandstone with brass furnishings. Hollowed circular base of 2 semi-circular slabs stapled together round the foot of a very simple slim baluster-shaped pedestal with a moulded cap. Brass plate and triangular gnomon. According to Fishwick's Goosnargh the plate was lettered: "Lat 53Ô 40' Vive memor Lethi fugit hora. The Revd Mr. Penny Minr. Henry Porter of Westfield Fecit and Sculp. 1745".
