Former public house, 1635, altered mid C19. Pebbledashed rubble with stone slate roof and brick chimney caps. Three storeys, with two bays to the left and one bay to the right of a three storey gabled porch. The ground and first floor windows are sashed with no glazing bars in plain stone surrounds with square mullions, of two lights to the left of the porch and tripartite to the right. The second floor windows are mullioned, double-chamfered with three stepped lights and hoods. The second floor porch window is similar. The first floor of the porch has a blank moulded stone surround with moulded string course above and below. Each return wall has a window of C19 type with chamfered stone surround, the left-hand one being of two lights with mullion. The door has a chamfered stone surround. Above, the upper stories oversail on a moulded string. Above the string is a plaque, its inscription now picked out in white paint: 'THIS HOUSE WAS BUILDED IN ANNO DOMINI 1635 AT THE COSTS AND CHARGS OF THOMAS LISTER. £855 COSTEd'. Chimneys on gables and on each side of central bay.
