II
Farmhouse with barn under same roof, dated 1822 on quoin, but possibly earlier; now uninhabited, used as store. Watershot coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof with one chimney on the ridge. Laithe-house plan, 3 bays, built back to lane. Double-depth single-bay dwelling house in 3rd bay, with set back extension to right of this. Two storeys; plain doorway at junction of 2nd and 3rd bays, with slab canopy over it, and on each floor one stepped triple-light window with glazing bars; quoin at 1st floor level inscribed H. H & S. 1822. Extension to right has plain doorway, chimney stack at right corner, and in right return wall an altered vertical 3-stage opening, the lower parts mostly blocked but containing flush mullions, the top now a 2-light window with rendered brick mullion. Barn continued to left has sliding door with a slab canopy over it; later full-height lean-to of random rubble at left end. Rear has ground floor lean-to (? dairy) built into slope, 2 windows at 1st floor. Barn has altered openings.
