13/24 Fir Tree House 13.2.1967 GV II
House, late C18th with C17th remains. Rubble with stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Ground-floor windows of 3 lights, the left-hand one rebated and chamfered with splayed mullions, and hood. The right-hand one has a plain stone surround and square mullions. The 1st floor windows are of 2 lights with square mullions and plain stone surrounds. The door, between bays, has plain reveals. End chimneys. Towards the front of the right-hand gable is a narrow 2-storey lean-to, containing a stair, with a blocked narrow chamfered window with segmental head, visible at the front. To its left is a blocked doorway with chamfered surround. The right-hand gable chimney has a projecting stack. Interior. The right-hand room has, on each side of the present fireplace, a C18th cupboard door of raised and fielded panels, the upper panels having ogee heads. A C17th panelled door leads to the stair outshut, which contains a spiral stone stair. The door at the rear of the room is also C17th and panelled.
