ARKENGARTHDALE NZ 00 SW 10/4 Church of St Mary the Virgin, Barningham memorial about 10 metres south-west of church
GV II Memorial. c1843. Iron plate with inscription to Thomas Barningham, died 1843, on stepped base, flanked by Tuscan colonettes supporting a frieze. Cornice, urn finials and pediment survive, now detached. Grave surrounded by iron rail with acanthus-ornamented balusters with urn finials on chamfered stone plinth. Inserted into rail at opposite end to iron plate is a memorial stone to Thomas Barningham, died 1879.
