GV II
Detached cottage. C16 and C17, left bay is C17 addition. Rubble stone, thatched roof, brick stacks. T-plan. Single-storey and attic, 3 windows. Planked door left of centre, two 2-light and two 3-light casements. Attic has one 3-light casement below raised eaves of left bay, two full dormers with coped verges to right, one with 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned window and one with 3- light casement. Roof has coped verge to right. Left return has blocked chamfered light. Rear has 3-light and 2-light casements with C20 dormer to attic, rear wing to right has 2-light and 3- light casements. Interior has two open fireplaces, the north one has chamfered lintel with rounded corners on stone jambs, the south fireplace has renewed lintel, deeply chamfered beams with stepped stops, planked doors with strap hinges. Rear wall, now within wing, has blocked 3-light wooden mullioned window. First floor has chamfered wooden doorcase, with stops. Four-bay roof has one tier of heavy through purlins, the centre bay is charred and smoke-blackened, suggesting a cottage open to the roof, probably C16, floor inserted C17.
