Detached house. Mid C16, altered late C17. Square-panelled timber-frame with straight braces, on rubble stone plinth, west end in chequered flint and limestone, thatched roof with axial and gable end brick stacks. Through passage to rear of stack. Two- storey, 8-window south front. Glazed door with hoodmould and 2- light segmental-headed casement and single ovolo-moulded casement with hoodmould to left, single casement, C20 door in thatched porch, two 2-light casements and single light to right. First floor has two 2-light ovolo-mullioned casements with hoodmoulds to C17 west end, six 2-light casements to right. To right is single- storey brick and timber-framed outhouse with casements and planked door, now partly garage. Left return has single ovolo-moulded light to attic. Rear facing road has disused planked door with chamfered Tudor-arched lintel, two 2-light casements to left and single to right, C17 bay to right with 4-light ovolo-mullioned casement to ground floor and 3-light to full attic gable, three 2- light casements to first floor to left. Interior has deeply chamfered beams with stepped stops, on ogee- moulded jowled posts, central stack has open fireplace with cambered lintel on stone jambs, late C17 open fireplace with winding stairs against south side. Internal timber-framed partitions and part of plank and muntin screen to west side of passage, now blocked on north side. First floor has heavy scantling collar truss roof with straight windbraces.
