7/71 Stables and carriage house with former chapel at Donhead Hall
GV II
Stable and carriage house block, partly converted to private chapel and now disused. Mid C18. Dressed limestone, hipped tiled roof. L-plan. Single storey, 5-bay south front. Four round-arched windows with keystones and imposts, the two to right lighting chapel have Y tracery and diamond leading; the right in blocked doorway, two smaller windows to left are pivot-hung. C19 gabled loft door left. Right return has planked door in round-arched opening, flanked by round-arched windows with Y tracery, keystones and impost band. To rear is carriage house with three elliptical- headed openings, one round-arched window to left. Interior of stables retain cast iron and timber stalls and loose boxes. Chapel on east end of range has boarded ceiling, formerly had panelling and organ.
