WOKINGHAM WITHOUT WARREN HOUSE ROAD SU 87 SW (east side) 6/23 Ruston's Farmhouse G.V. II Farmhouse, now house. C15, extended and altered early C16, extended C17 and C20. Timber frame with brick infill, partly brick and part underbuilt in brick; old tile gabled roofs of different heights. T-plan of 3 x 2 bays crosswing, jettied on south but underbuilt in brick probably C16; and C17 pent roof extension on north and a large 2-storey C20 extension on right not of special interest. 2 storeys. Chimney on ridge in centre. Entrance front:- Main part underbuilt in brick on ground floor. Scattered C19 and C20 casements. Entrance door to left of centre with C20 gabled porch. C20 French casement doors with glazing bars on left hand corner. One bay gabled crosswing on right with tile hanging in gable, 3-light casement first floor and C20 French casements under cut into old brickwork underbuilt to former Jetty. Interior:- fine quality frame exposed with large tension braces on ground floor, jowled posts and 2 old 3-light diamond mullioned windows on former external wall in third framed bay from left on both floors. Roof partly queen post and partly simple coupled with trenched purlins.
