8/1 Lower Lovetts Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse and stable, now farmhouse. Late C16, altered C17, extended mid C19. Part timber frame with brick infill, part brick, part flint. Old tile hipped and gabled roofs. Rectangular plan of 3 framed bays with former stables on west. 2-gabled extension on north. 2 storeys and one storey. 3 chimneys, the one on the right end gable full height in 3 stages in brick, the other 2 chimneys roughcast. Entrance (south) front: left section one storey,former stable, with two 3-light C20 casement windows and C20 half-glazed door between in centre. Main section to right of this irregular, with timber frame exposed on first floor with thin timbers. Projecting brick plinth. C19 wooden casement windows with glazing bars. Three, 2-light windows on first floor. On ground floor an old plank entrance door with C20 gabled porch in centre, 3-light window with segmental-arched head on left, and 3-light C20 casement window on right. East gable has jowled post and large curved brace visible, and bread oven with lean-to tile roof adjacent to chimney. Formerly known and shown on the map as Mitchell's Farm.
