2/74 Nos. l and 2 Bradury Cottages - - II Former farmhouse, later divided into 2 occupations. C17 but earlier fabric may well be concealed. Whitewashed rendered stone rubble and cob. Slate roof, hipped. at left end. Brick shafts to front lateral hall stack and to front right end corner heating inner room. Lateral rear stone rubble stack heating lower end. Basically 3-room and cross-passage plan, lower end to left, the original plan having been little altered with the division of the farmhouse into 2 occupations, a direct entry having been made into the hall adjoining the cross-passage and the hall/cross- passage internal doorway infilled. Solid wall partition between hall and inner room may suggest inner room is an addition, but no access to roofspace. 2 storeys. 4-window range. Irregular C20 fenestration. Slate leanto roof to double porch. Plank doors, half-glazed to left side. C19 stone rubble and brick outshuts with slate roofs to rear of each cottage. Interior Boxed in cross ceiling beam to hall. C19 bench at upper end. C20 grate may conceal original hall firepace. Partially cased-in chamfered durns to hall/inner room doorway with raised and fielded 2 panelled door. Inner room has axial hollow step-stopped chamfered ceiling beam. C20 grate to fireplace across angle may conceal earlier one. Winder staircase to rear left-hand corner. Cyma reversa moulded plaster cornice mostly concealed by wallpaper to chamber over hall. Roof and lower end not inspected.
