Details
BRAMPTON L-shaped range of outbuildings to SK37SW west of Hollins House 1264-0/2/89 GV II Outbuildings. C17, with C18 alterations and additions, and C20 remodelling. Coursed Coal Measures Sandstone with ashlar dressings, quoins, with stone slated and concrete tiled roofs. L-shaped range, the part to the west substantially remodelled 1975-86. Eastern range stepped, and of 3 bays. South elevation of a single storey with overloft at east end. Substantial quoined doorway to east end with massive lintel, having a segmental arched soffit. Western part with 2 plain doorways and a single taking-in door above. North elevation and east gable both have single-light C17 windows with moulded surrounds. The gable also has a blocked quoined surround. Western range, of 5 bays formerly with a single cruck truss, now with two added trusses introduced in association with door and window surrounds to east, west, and north walls. At the south end, an added single bay with an arched ground-floor opening, and with a stone staircase leading to a first floor doorway. Listed for Group Value.
