Details
ST4717 STOKE SUB HAMDON CP WINDSOR LANE (North side) 7/345 Well Cottage, with wing wall on south-east corner - GV II [The Well House on 0.S. Map). Detached cottage. Early C19. Ham stone cut and squared, ashlar dressings; double Roman clay tiled roof between stepped coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys, 2 bays. Plain chamfer-muillioned windows of 3 lights, with horizontal-bar casement inserts, no labels; entrance in east gable. Attached to front of east jable a short length of wing wall about 2.5 metres high, with plain gateway, above which is set the head of a 2-light cinquefoil cusped window, possibly C16, source unknown; C20 wrot iron gate. Interior not seen.
