Details
NUNEATON AND BEDWORTH SUTTON STOP SP38SE (North-west side) Hawkesbury Junction 8/76 Footbridge over junction of Coventry and Oxford Canals GV II
Footbridge. Dated 1837. Designed by J. Sinclair. Cast iron. English bond brick abuttments have rounded stone and blue brick copings. Segmental-arched footway cast in 3 sections has x-framed openwork parapet over basket arch, with openwork spandrels. Cast inscription: '1837 BRITANNIA FOUNDRY DERBY J. SINCLAIR ENGINEER'. Sinclair was engineer to the Coventry Canal Company.
