Pair of houses. 1926. By J. Lomax Simpson. Brick with swept hipped tile roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Weathered base, soldier course over ground floor and boxed eaves. Windows have small-paned casements, those to ground floor central bays have weather-boarded canopy and are of 3 lights; others of 2 lights. 1st floor has 3-light rectangular oriels to central bays with panels below, flanking fluted strips and cornice, others of 2 lights. Entrances have architraves and doors with small-paned lights. Central cruciform stack. Decorative rainwater head. Rear similar. Flanking screen walls have end buttresses and central shell niches with triple keys and raised coping over. Part of rebuilding to provide a setting for the Leverhulme Memorial.
