YALDING TQ 74 NW Collier Street 4/75 Butchers Mere GV II
House. C18 with early-to-mid Cl9 addition and later alterations. Ground floor of main range painted brick, first floor tile-hung. Front wing has reddish-grey brick in Flemish bond to ground floor and tile-hung first floor. Plain tile roof. Main range lobby entry plan of two timber- framed bays and central stack bay. Short early-to-mid Cl9 wing running forwards from centre and left side of front elevation. Main range 2 storeys and garret, wing 2 storeys. Half-hipped roof to main range. Wing gabled to front. Red brick ridge stack towards centre of main range. Slightly-projecting front gable end stack to wing. Irregular fenestration of 2 two-light casements with slanted bracketed wooden hoods, to right side of wing. One three-light casement with similar hood towards right end of main range. Panelled door in red brick porch with plain tile roof to right side of wing, towards junction with main range. Gabled single- storey red brick addition to left gable end of main range, and further L-plan addition with hipped plain-tile roof to left of that. Rear lean- to. Interior: some exposed framing to each floor. Chamfered axial beam to right ground-floor room. Narrow staircase between stack and former front doorway. C19 fireplace to ground floor room of wing.
