Details
SW 97 NE ST ENDELLION TRELIGHTS 4/148 Trelights Methodist Church and hall - adjoining on left GV II Methodist church with adjoining probable school room now church hall. 1831, rebuilt and enlarged in 1887 with school room on left possibly comprising remains of earlier building. Snecked stone rubble with dressed granite quoins and moulded plinth. Rag slate roof with gabled end with decorated bargeboards to front. Earlier schoolroom adjoining on left of stone rubble with rag slate roof with half-hipped left-hand end and further range on left, set back, stone rubble with slate roof with gable ends. The 1887 chapel to right has entrance in gable end to front. Adjoining left is the earlier schoolroom possibly of the 1831 chapel. Church of single storey with 2 C19 lancet windows and central C19 plank door with chamfered and stopped jambs and lintel and triangular light above. On north elevation of church, further C19 lancet windows with brick dressings. Schoolroom on left is all that remains of the 1831 building; C19 12-pane sash, plank door in dressed stone arch and further partly glazed door in further range to left. Interior of church largely complete with C19 furnishings and ornate roof trusses with curved principals pierced with trefoil motifs on stone corbelled brackets.
