Pair of houses converted into one. Circa mid C19. Rendered and painted stone
rubble, slate-hung on right-hand side wall. Slate roof with gable end on left and
half-hipped end on right. Brick chimney stack on left-hand gable end and axial brick
stack between 2 original houses.
Plan originally 2 double depth 2-room plan houses each with entrances on right with
stair to rear of passage and small service room behind larger front room on left.
3 storeys, regular 4-window front with brick segmental arches to openings on left and
rendered lintels to right-hand openings. Ground rises to left and fenestration in
left-hand range higher than that on right. Ground floor with C19 16-pane horned sash
and partly glazed late C19/C20 6-panel door on left; C19 16-paned horned sash and C19
6-panel door on right. First floor with 2 C19 12-pane hornless sashes on left and
similar horned sashes on right. Second floor with 2 Cl9 3/6-pane hornless sashes in
raking half-dormers on left and 2 C19 3/6-pane horned sashes on right.
Interior with enclosed framed stair in right-hand house with complete mid C19
carpentry details.
Included for group value.
Prominent position overlooking harbour.
