II
House. Built between 1825-40 with later additions and alterations. Rubble, rendered, slate roofs with deep eaves on paired brackets. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all sashes, central Tuscan portico with heavy 6-panelled door, side- lights of 3 panes each, reeded architrave and fanlight over all with decorative glazing bars, plain frieze and cornice; plinth. Left return has central bay through 2 storeys with central French window with glass hood on brackets, sash with external shutters at first floor, 8-pane sash right and left; ground and first floor sash to right and left. Right return has door with overlight to left, sash and 6-pane light to right, 2 sashes at first floor; side elevation steps back twice with single storey addition in unrendered sandstone rubble with pointed arched door and window. Rear has 3 French windows, to left with margin glazing, glazed conservatory, 4 sashes with external shutters at first floor; single storey addition to left has 3 sashes to front and similar French window to side, parapet. Interior: rooms panelled at ground floor, internal shutters to windows, entrance hall has cantilevered stone stair with wrought iron balustrade, banded mahogany handrail; dado rail and cornice, fine panelled doors.
