BADMINTON C.P. HIGH STREET (south side) ST 8082 12/49 Village Lodge, including Gates, Gate piers, walls, and G.V. Railings to north

Lodge, gates, gate piers and railings. Circa 1860. Coursed squared rubble; Cotswold stone slate roof with overhanging eaves, plain bargeboards and finials. Tudor Gothic style. Single storey and attics. East elevation : 2 bays, gabled projecting wing to left and gabled oriel window on corbels to right; casement windows with diamond pattern glazing, in moulded mullions and surrounds and under hood moulds and relieving arches. Plank door in re-entrant angle, open porch with segmental heads and band of fleurons as a frieze. North elevation : 1-2-1-light bay window on ground floor and 2-light casement above. West elevation : oriel window similar to east elevation. To the north are 2 quadrant coursed squared rubble walls, terminating in square ashlar piers with pyramidal caps; 2 central piers surmounted by cast iron lanterns; cast iron gates between, outer pedestrian gates and inner vehicular gates.
