TL 13 NW UPPER STONDON HILLSIDE ROAD 3/129 The Old Rectory
GV II
House, formerly a rectory C17, C18 and C19. Earlier blocks timber framed with red brick infill, clay tile roofs. C19 blocks colourwashed brick with hipped slate roofs. Complex plan, 2 storeys. E elevation: central slightly projecting block is earliest. C18 block to RH, itself extended to R in red brick. C19 block to LH. Variety of windows, all casements. Those to central and C18 part are leaded, the leading in a pointed-arched design. Those to outer blocks have glazing bars. LH block has canted bay to ground floor. Central block has front door of 6-moulded- panels, in moulded surround, surmounted by flat hood. Brick buttress to centre of central block. Various chimney stacks, including one to central block at junction with LH block and one to C18 block.
