Barn. Mid C18, including earlier work. Weatherboard over timber frame set on
tall brick plinth; gabled corrugated iron roof. 5-bay plan with central threshing
floor and gabled midstrey to rear C20 doors. INTERIOR: exposed timber frame
with diagonal wall bracing; diagonal bracing from jowled wall posts to tie
beams; collar-strut roof with side struts, clasped purlins to collars and lower
tier of butt purlins. Subsidiary features: early C19 L-plan shelter shed to
rear, of weatherboard over timber frame with later pantile roof. Interior has
jowled posts braced to tie beams and wall plates, side struts to clasped
purlins. Mid C18 stable to front, of brick with gabled corrugated asbestos
roof. One-storey, 2-window range with segmental brick arches over door and
flanking windows; C18 chamfered beams and late C19 stalls, mangers and hay-
racks. Range attached to south of barn is not of special architectural or
historic interest.
