No.22, N one of a pair of lodges at NW entrance to Henlow Park

Entrance lodge, forming a pair with No.20 to S side of road. Later C18,
extended C19. Red brick. Hipped clay tile roof. Originally a small
square plan building of 2 storeys, extended by one bay to N. All elevations
have colourwashed rendered string course at first floor level and wood
modillion cornice to eaves. W and E elevations each have central semi-
circular arched recessed panel to original block. These panels contain one
window per floor, the ground floor one with flat gauged brick head. All
sashes with glazing bars, the first floor ones with segmental heads. C19
extension is in similar style but without recessed panels. From centre of S
elevation projects a brick gate pier, with stone coping in line with first
floor string course and surmounted by ball finial. To R of gate pier is
front door of 4 fielded panels, the doorway with gauged brick flat head.
