Farmhouse. Probably C18, remodelled in the C18 and early C20.
Stone rubble, front overgrown with creeper; dry slate roofs
laid to diminishing courses, the taller roof on the right with
half-hipped ends; tall rendered stacks: end stack on the left,
2 lateral stacks rear of right-hand part of front range and
end stacks to parallel rear range.
PLAN: double-depth evolved plan: probably originally a 3-room
and through- passage plan with hall right of through passage;
extended probably late C18 by heightening the higher end and
by building a parallel range behind and probably later by
adding an outshut behind the low left-hand side.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2:3-window range. Wide window openings
with early C20 3-light diamond leaded casements to low end and
wide doorway on its right with wide C18 flush-panelled door
with early C20 diamond leaded glazing inserted to top 3
panels. Taller range on the right with 4 windows grouped on
the left and 2 windows on the right of porch, all 4-pane
hornless sashes, possibly early C19 with intermediate glazing
bars removed. Wide pilastered porch with moulded entablature
and early C20 leaded glazing. Rear of 2-storey wing is
4-window range with original or early C19 12-pane 2-light
centre-hung casements.
INTERIOR: remodelled early C20 and the visible features where
inspected date from this period.
