Detached house. c1813. Built for the Bailiff of the Lord of
the Manor; later northern extension. Multi-coloured stock
brick. Tiled hipped roof. 2 storeys and basement. 3 windows
and 1 window extension. Main entrance on west (garden) front
with round-arched recessed doorway having fanlight and French
windows. Gauged brick flat arches to recessed sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: home from 1945 to
1988 of Dame Peggy Ashcroft, actress.
